Matt de Jong's graduation collection 2012 Fashion graduate Matt de Jong had his beautiful pictures blogged by former classmate Rosi Muller. At her Ink or Milk blog you'll find Matt's interesting collection called Lost Property. It explores the 'mix and match' nature of dressing oneself in an ever-expanding global world. Matt wanted to portray a very obvious clash between textures, colours and prints. Although the pieces are predominantly ready-to-wear, they embody a puzzle like nature, appearing to have been pieced together from various different garments. The collection is a comment on his generation and the constant need to search for something new. Lichting 2012 met Brian Geradts en Sara Veenstra The concept of ‘Lichting’ is simple: the best academy graduates of one year in one central catwalk show. In the audience are the 700 most important people for the next step in their careers: fashion journalists and influential stylists, ready to spot the next big thing; CEO’s and design managers on the look-out for talent; and the all-important players-behind-the-scenes, all eager to see what the nation’s academies have brought forth this year. Both decision makers within the audience and a professional international panel of fashion connaisseurs will decide who receives the ‘G-Star RAW Talent Award’ in the year 2012.

From the 9 different designs, we voted for the most commercial ones. And these got developed and reproduced by knitting factory VNB Fashion in Staphorst. In the knitting factory, the students chose their own color combinations and yarns, discussed their design with Klaas Veijer. And after a few weeks he hockers were ready. You can see the hockers, and buy them if you like, at Intermezzo, Voorstraat 178 in Dordrecht. Alumna Rowena Rutten was mentioned in the yearbook of the Dutch Textile Museum in Tilburg.
